$250The Saint Albans Police Department is excited to announce a two-day training event, “9-1-1 Homicide: Is the Caller the Killer – Identifying the Innocence or Guilt of a Caller Reporting Homicide.” The event will be held on April 10th and 11th, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Saint Albans Police Department’s new headquarters at 613 MacCorkle Avenue, Saint Albans, WV 25177.
Tracy Harpster, a seasoned police officer in Ohio with over 30 years of experience, will lead the training. DC Harpster is a member of the Vidocq Society and has shared his research on identifying indicators of innocence and guilt of 9-1-1 homicide callers at conferences across the country. He has used his research to investigate over 2500 homicides.
This training is specifically designed for criminal justice personnel, including Dispatchers, Law Enforcement Officers, Detectives, Supervisors, Medical Examiners, and Prosecutors. It is approved by LEPS for 16 hours of annual or supervisory in-service credit. The cost of the training is $250 per student.
