Why Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety provides critical skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This course is specifically tailored for public safety personnel, enhancing your ability to provide initial support and connect individuals to appropriate care. Statistics to Note:

• Almost 10% of police calls in 2014 involved someone with a mental illness (NPR).
• 1 in 4 police officers has considered suicide at some point (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
• Annually, 1.2 million individuals with mental illness are jailed (Mental Health America).
