St. Albans Police Department Partners with DEA for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Event April 30

St. Albans, WV – The St. Albans WV Police Department is proud to partner with the DEA for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 30, from 10 am – 2 pm. This event provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unneeded prescription drugs.

Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision. A majority of opioid addictions start with people who misuse a prescription medication obtained the medicine from a family member or friend. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Tack Back Day events are one way to dispose of these unneeded medications.

The St. Albans Police Department is committed to keeping our community safe, and this event is one way that we can help prevent the misuse of prescription drugs.

We encourage everyone to clean out their medicine cabinets and bring any unwanted or expired prescription drugs to our event. We will be behind the Police/Fire Station at 51 Sixth Avenue. There will also be a paper shredding truck available, free of charge!

Please Note:

The St. Albans Police Department cannot accept liquids or intravenous (needles) type prescription drugs during this event.

Please contact the St. Albans WV Police Department for more information at (304) 727-2251.
