Course Description:
The Tactical Medical for First Responders program is a comprehensive, one-day training designed for law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS, and other emergency response personnel. This course focuses on defining a Medical Threat Assessment and creating a medical plan for tactical operations. Participants will learn and apply critical techniques for:

  • Care Under Fire in a HOT ZONE: Techniques to control life-threatening bleeding.
  • Tactical Field Care in a WARM ZONE: Treatments for both life-threatening and non-life-threatening injuries.
  • Tactical Evacuation Care: Skills for lifting, moving, and extricating victims from tactical or hostile environments.

Who Should Attend:

  • Sworn law enforcement officers/agents with arrest authority
  • First responders including firefighters, EMS, and emergency response personnel
  • Participants must be U.S. citizens in good physical condition, authorized to attend training in support of their official duties, and attending with the knowledge and support of their employer.

Physical Requirements:
Participants should be able to crawl, kneel, and bend over. The ability to apply various first aid techniques such as tourniquets, hemostatic agents, and pressure bandages is essential.

Attire and Equipment:

  • Attire: Wear durable, professional clothing appropriate for physical activities (e.g., BDU pants, t-shirts). No shorts, inappropriate logos, offensive language, or inappropriate footwear.
  • Footwear: Closed-toe shoes required. No flip flops, sandals, open-toe shoes, heels, or dress shoes.
  • Additional Gear: Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, long sleeve shirts, and other weather-appropriate gear. Duty leather/web gear is also required.
